Livia,

It’s great to hear you will be able to chair this session. Do you have a zoom link for the session?

Regarding getting a new chair or adding a co-chair, I think it sounds great for you to ask during the DEI session for an election/nomination for a new chair. I don’t think there are any specific requirements a co-chair should have outside of a desire to help lead and contribute to the DEI efforts.

Dear all,

as agreed I I can chair the DEI session on friday, even if from remote. Unless anyone attending in presence is willing to take the lead: I shall be happy with this and also would be safer in case of connection problems.

Indeed I also admit that nothing has been done by the DEI working group in the past months, only my fault: I would rather suggest a new chair of the WG as my commitment is not adequate. At least a co-chair is needed: this would act as a booster also for myself. Thus my intention is to ask for the election of a new WG (co)chair at the DEI session: would this be ok for you? are there any specific requirements that the new (co)chair should have?

I will chair the formal education and evaluation committee during the morning session remotely.  I’ve got that worked out.  However with a remote link, the first thing I will need to do is appoint someone in the room to be an in session co-chair since there is always the possibility of an internet disruption.  Amber, I will list you as a zoom backup host since you are from Caltech and I can do that in advance – you shouldn’t be needed but you will have that capacity.

Hi All,

I have looked through those who confirmed attendance and our email traffic. Here is where I think we stand on chairs for each session. You'll see I have some unknowns. I want all chairs/co-chairs to verify if the information I have is correct and if not, please let us know who will be chairing your session.

·       Art & Science – Isa will chair and attend in person

·       Multi-Messenger Astronomy – Chris will chair and attend in person

·       Science Festivals – Paul will chair and attend virtually.

·       Formal Education – William might be able to chair and attend virtually if we swamp it to the afternoon session.

·       DEI- I am unsure who is chairing this. Livia, are you attending?

·       Communications – Ryan is unable to chair. We are unsure who might take his spot.

Is the above correct? If you are chairing a session, do you have the ability to create a zoom meeting for your session?
