Hi Mikhail,
Did you get a response from IGrav? Coordination with GWECS is a great idea, so I hope you are in touch with the active IGrav leaders.
thanks,
Joey

Subject: [igrav-discuss] Collaboration with GWECS
Dear IGRAV team,
My name is Mikhail Korobko, I’m a member of the GWECS office for media and outreach. GWECS (https://gwecs.org/<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/gwecs.org/__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!nt76vO21bq1_LmKNJJfo0AY2OLCZU9EBAD_qP09TyYdGPPM_HkhYES4-ZYSr1LCbakex6MTbPT52_92Rz0diRSK-RpgQ1Q$>) is the organisation for early career scientists, working in GW astrophysics. Its functions are similar to those of e.g. LAAC or LECS & VECS. It’s designed to be an “umbrella” for these communities, and also include ECSs from outside the main collaborations. GWECS is very new: we’ve just started this summer.
The scope of what we’re doing is rather broad: e.g. we organised a scientific workshop for ECSs, recently the job fair and now running the seminars on mental health. Among these, we also plan for some outreach work, and that’s where I’m coming to you.
I understand that IGrav has somewhat similar concept in term of addressing the global GW community, but with a focus on the outreach in general. We feel like it wouldn’t make sense for us to run this completely independently, and that both groups could benefit from each other. We’re still defining what exactly would be our scope in the outreach, and would be happy to communicate with you.
May be, if you have some regular meetings, we could present GWECS briefly and discuss the potential points for collaboration? I would of course be happy to tell you more about GWECS.
Best,
Mikhail
