Hi everyone.

Sorry for not sending this email before. The starting of the new academic year in the university is just a caos in the middle of the LVK meeting and other more online conferences.

Regarding the web page:

-> Short description for the Art and Science group to be added:

In this working group we wan to collect information about the different exhibitions or events which mix or associate art and science (gravity). We also want to contact different associations or institutions (national and international), so our research will have more visibility and can be used as inspiration for these institutions. On the other hand, we want also to benefit from established contacts with artists and graphical designers who illustrate scientific publications with animations, figures, logos, and artistical outputs in general.

-> From one of the emails of Joey, she was asking to include a few members to the list on the proto-website, but IPTA <http://www.ipta4gw.org/> is still missing. I am not sure if any other organization / collaboration / group also expressed interest to appear in the list. I think we circulated a google form done by Chris.

-> From Ryan emails it is clear we need someone to help with the webpage. I am full. Maybe you have more ideas... or this is a point for the annual meeting.

Regarding the meeting next week:

-> I am not sure if I would be able to join the first day due to late time. I will try to join the second day, I will be in the middle of the filming of a short outreach movie with producers from Spain for an European project I am involved. So maybe it is worth to let only one Art & Science session on Tuesday September 14th I am fine to chair.

-> I am in the GWIC mailing list since August 31st (thanks Magdalena!!) and I will try to inform you about of the points. They will have their annual GWIC meeting 23 and 24 September, and I will join without possibility of voting as we agreed with GWIC. I also copy here the email with the info they would like to hear in a presentation from me in the GWIC meeting:

---

1) What is new in iGrav since we heard from Magdalena a year ago? A snapshot of the things that were done would be good to hear; challenges and questions for GWIC members would be appropriate too.

2) What is iGrav’s notion of the give and take with GWIC — what do you hope to have from GWIC in the coming year, and what could you contribute?

In the second domain, of particular interest is the iGrav initiative in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). We’d like to hear how iGrav could (and could not!) help GWIC members establish good and uniform policies, find resources for DEI training/lectures/activities, etc. It would be a great service to the community, and the GWIC leadership would help you in the measure possible.

Feasible and interesting for you to address? It can be vague and be more a plan for the future than a set of definite initiatives, and it could be that iGrav just can’t commit to making a gesture in this way.

I’d like to firm up the agenda in the coming week, and for that a key (but very ordinary) thing is to know how long to set aside in the agenda for an iGrav presentation and discussion. it depends how much of the scope above is appropriate. 15 minutes for the short form, 30 for the long?

----

I think 15 minutes presentation will be fine. I will answer them this Spanish afternoon if nobody disagrees. I will make clear the acronym is IGrav... :)
They hope to receive my PDF slides on 13 September. I can ask them to delay this date a bit so I can include comments from the IGrav meeting 13-14 September.
Finally, David Shoemaker wrote me and Magdalena a few days ago because he found that we are having our meeting and would like to ask if attendance by GWIC members be welcome. I think it is a very good idea, so I will re-send one of the remind emails about the meeting through the GWIC list just after sending this email. Moreover, he was personally very interested in attend DEI sessions, which I would strongly encourage to do.

Regarding the logo contest: Sorry I haven't been able to progress on this point, but I will try to push it during this month.

Regarding lists permissions: I am not sure if I have already asked this, but I don't find the password. I have found the one for the igrav-steering at lists.igrav.org. But, where can I find igrav-artsci
List Moderator Password?

Luckly, among all of you I will be able to answer all these points.
Regards,
Isa
