Chris,

Did you every end up with feedback on your registration form? I was scanning it again this morning and I think the Under-represented and Under-served group renamed itself to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.

I was also wondering based on our conversation at the board today if we should either add a question or be more precise about what we want when they input their affiliation. I am guessing many will put their university there but I think it would also be helpful to know what collaborations and/or observatory they are a part of this. This could be helpful when we are thinking about our board structure. I suppose we could do this one of two ways either just have a blank or do a check box with various collaborations plus an “other” box so they can add ones we have missed. The check boxes may make looking at the data easier for those who are in multiple collaborations.

I know we have the go ahead from the Amaldi folks (or at least that is my understanding from Martin) so we should probably finalize the form and get it posted. To that end you might gently remind everyone to give you feedback by the end of this week and then we just go with it.

Best,
Amber

Hi,

Draft registration form at https://forms.gle/Uwh77a44Ycoe36FX9

It's in the Shared Google Drive: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1kjfhzRrodfo6uXJt3ec-sgtfwSDmNZMr39x7SLKBk7M/edit?usp=sharing

One query I have for anyone contacting the LOC: I'm assuming that the date in the progam (https://www.amaldi14.org/program.html) refers to the Melbourne timezone? Because the "Session 1" is at 0100-1300 Melbourne time, so is actually the previous day for almost every other time zone (and to a lesser degree for the 0900-1100 slot).

I've been practicing my temporal mechanics, and I think:
"Thurs 22nd" Session 1 (0100-0300 Melbourne) = Weds 21st 1500-1700 UTC / 0800-1000 PDT
"Thurs 22nd: Session 2 (0900-1100 Melbourne) = Weds 21st 2300-0100 UTC / 1600-1800 PDT
"Fri 23rd" Session 1 (0100-0300 Melbourne) = Thurs 22nd 1500-1700 UTC / 0800-1000 PDT
"Fri23rd" Session 2 (0900-1100 Melbourne) = Thurs 22nd 2300-0100 UTC / 1600-1800 PDT

Doing Session 1 then Session 2 (i.e. parallel with Amaldi's sessions) puts the two sessions 32 hours apart.
Doing Session 2 then Session 1 (in the non-Alamdi slots) puts the two sessions 16 hours apart.

Now my brain hurts.

Cheers,
Chris
